L&S Recruitment and Consulting is looking for a General Manager of Operations, for our client; you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of Their fabricationoperations, ensuring efficiency, quality, and profitability. You will play a pivotal role in strategic planning, process improvement, and team leadership, driving the company's growth and maintaining our reputation for excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and manage a diverse team across fabrication, project management, workshop, and logistics functions
• Develop and implement operational strategies to optimise production efficiency, reduce costs, and improve lead times
• Oversee project execution from inception to completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards
• Manage and optimise resource allocation, including personnel, equipment, and materials
• Implement and maintain robust quality control systems and safety protocols
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across all operational processes
• Collaborate closely with sales, engineering, and finance departments to achieve company objectives
• Identify and mitigate operational risks
• Prepare and manage operational budgets

Skills & Experience

• Proven experience (5+ years) in a senior operations management role within a fabrication or heavy manufacturing environment
• Demonstrated success in leading and developing high-performing teams
• Strong understanding of fabrication processes, materials, and industry best practices desired
• Exceptional project management skills with a track record of successful project delivery
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills
• Proficiency in operational software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• A commitment to safety and quality excellence

Advantageous Experience

• Mechanical Engineering background or qualification
• Extensive experience in piping fabrication
